When I think of this project, I think of the incredible amount of time and effort we put into both the design and the content. Karen O'Laughlin was founding Glow Aesthetics, her aesthetic injection business in North Carolina, when we met. As a registered nurse previously, she had a ton of great ideas about what to include on the website and how information would be communicated to visitors.

Karen had already commissioned a logo, so I based the initial site design on that as well as her request to include teal throughout. Teal can be tricky because it's a very bright, loud color. Finding ways to incorporate it into the site while maintaining the luxurious, mature feel we were going for was a hurdle. I think that using it just enough as a pop of color was the right choice, and sharp angles for buttons and photos helped the site feel, well, sharp. I played around with a few fonts before landing on the pairing here. Because Karen had so many services and so many options, I found it best to break out each service into its own page, with a dashboard here.

I’ll be honest: Karen’s site is one of my favorite projects. I loved being able to incorporate a tricky color like teal by using black and a muted beige to compliment it. I also loved being able to play with a lot of different page setups to incorporate different sets of information.
